JDL Electric recently exhibited at the Africa Construction/Totally Concrete Expo at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, whereby we had the opportunity to expose our extensive product range to the masses.
This free-to-attend expo created an opportunity for exhibitors, and visitors alike, to explore a variety of innovative products and services that were on offer from over 170 manufacturers, distributors and various service providers.
We used the expo as a platform to launch a new, locally manufactured modular home automation range from Silux Control Technologies, giving you the ability to control just about any electrical appliance, motor and irrigation system, right from your phone, wherever you are! This range is made with the intention of solving real world problems, like soil errosion/water wastage prevention by including a rain and ground moisture sensors in their irrigation controller range. The user has the ability to control, schedule and monitor almost anything in your home at the touch of a button.
We also took advantage of this spotlight by showcasing our range of innovative Allbro electrical enclosures. Form and function work well together to complete this range of enclosures, making these enclosures ideal for just about any application.
Just to spice things up a bit, we had several lucky draws, giving visitors a chance to win one of several power banks and tool kits up for grabs. We were happy to see the lucky winners walking away with smiles on their dials and more power in their pockets!
See the stats from the expo here.
Thank you to the organisers of the Africa Construction/Totally Concrete Expo, as well as to all that took the time to pop in to learn more about JDL Electric and the construction industry developments as a whole.
What a blast!
On All Hallow’s Eve, JDL Electric, in association with several of our most valued suppliers, hosted another successful Customer Evening. We invited a number of electrical contractors and engineers to join the team for some fun under the moonlight (and LED light), to learn a bit more about who we are, what we do and how we can be of service.
We had a wide range of products on display from the likes of CBI Electric, Major-tech, Citiq Prepaid, PioLED and Stone Stamcor. Customers had the opportunity to view the latest and greatest in LED lighting, test instruments, hand tools, prepaid technology, wiring/electrical accessories and switchgear.
Falling on All Hallow’s Eve, we decided to theme the event accordingly. The décor really complemented the theme, with jack-o-lanterns and spider webs everywhere, ghosts projected onto the wall, and eerie bubbling cauldrons of punch, it certainly got everyone into the ‘sprit’ of things.
Of course, we could never let any of our guests walk away empty handed! Over and above the various branded merchandise that each of our suppliers were giving away, we had a few lucky prize draws, which saw several guests walk away with various test instruments, tool kits (you can never have too many tools) and many other amazing prizes.
It was an entertaining evening that afforded us the opportunity to meet and greet a few new contractors in the industry, as we gave them many reasons to choose JDL Electric as their preferred product supplier.
Thank you to all suppliers involved for helping us to make a success of the event – we are truly grateful to work with such power houses in the industry on a daily basis.
Thank you to all of the guests that took the time out of your busy schedules to join us for a fun-filled and informative evening – we wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of each and every one of our loyal customers, existing and to be!
We recently hosted two back-to-back customer evenings, whereby, local registered contractors were invited to enjoy an informative evening with the JDL Electric team and several of our valued suppliers.
It was a great opportunity for all guests to find out more about JDL Electric and the ‘One-Stop’ variety of products that we have to offer. There were a few amazing prizes up for grabs, sponsored by each supplier that participated, which saw a few guests walk off full-handed, with smiles for miles!
Guests had a chance to view a wide range of electrical products on display from the likes of Schneider Electric, Ruwag, Legrand, Three-D Agencies, Eaton, Radiant, HellermannTyton and Stone-Stamcor. The latest and greatest switchgear, tools, lighting supplies, electrical equipment and accessories were on display for guests to peruse, as they nibbled away at an assortment of tasty platters and snacks.
With a few bonfires set up around the stands, the ambience was unbelievable, with everyone huddling around the fires (meeting rooms), as the networking progressed throughout the evening.
We are ever grateful for the support shown by our suppliers, as they never cease to amaze us with their innovative products and services – they keep us ahead of the game. To our guests, we would like to thank you for taking the time to travel from all four corners of Gauteng to meet the team; it was a pleasure to meet each and every guest and we hope to work hand-in-hand with them in the future to grow both their brands, as well as our own. With a wealth of knowledge in the electrical industry, JDL Electric are geared to assist our customers with world class turnkey solutions. We always consider your next big jog OUR next big job!
At JDL Electric, we are passionate about building strong, long-lasting relationships with our valued customers. As a result, we decided to host our own golf day at the Leeuwkop Golf Club in Sandton, whereby we invited several customers to have some fun in the sun with us.
Interacting with these customers on an ‘over-the-counter’ basis every day made this a very insightful experience, as we got to know a little more about each customer with every swing of the club.
To make the experience that much more exciting, we had several amazing prizes up for grabs! These prizes included a Ford Ranger double cab valued at R480,000.00, as well as a R100,000.00 cash prize for nail-biting putt-off competition. As much as we would have liked to see someone walk off with these prizes, nobody walked off with these prizes, unfortunately - one or two players sure came close though!
Because we believe that knowledge is power, we invited several of our valued suppliers to participate and showcase their latest and greatest products at each hole. These suppliers included Schneider Electric, O-line, Opple Lighting, HellermannTyton, Major-tech, Three-D Agencies, Ruwag, Radiant Lighting, Electro Mechanica, ADC Cables and Invoset. Thanks to all of our sponsors, there were give-aways and refreshments at every turn, ensuring that the players were kept on their toes all the way.
After the excitement of the putt-off competition, and everyone now hungry, we headed into the lapa where we dug into a mouth-watering dinner followed by the customary prize-giving ceremony. From tools sets and LED tech to professional golfing gear and backpacks, almost everyone walked off with something to remember the day by.
The JDL Electric team would like to extend a big THANK YOU to all of our suppliers and customers that participated – it went really well and everyone appeared to have had a ball of a time!
Following the success of this event, another high voltage golf day is currently in the making – we aim to make each golf day bigger and better than the last!
The JDL Electric brand has strengthened dramatically over the past few years – Not because of the quality, range and price of the electrical products that we supply but because of the incredible support that we receive from our trusted suppliers, as well as from our well informed customers that choose to purchase their products through JDL electric.
We look forward to sharing a few more memories with you at our upcoming events!
On 19 April 2016, JDL Electric were proud to participate in the ECA Bosveld regions annual charity golf day at the Irene Country Club in Centurion. With over 100 players and 13 hole sponsorships, the event managed to raise a substantial amount of money for charity.
Partnered with the up-and-coming, innovative LED lighting supplier (Opple Lighting), we sponsored a hole and prizes toward the prize giving ceremony. We also had a diverse 4-ball team comprised of JDL and Opple representatives, as well as two customers, who played a great game of golf on the day. Aside from being our most valued customers, they turned out to be our most valued players too!
While balls were shot into multiple rivers and bunkers, some did make it onto the putting green eventually and a total of 14 teams later received prizes for their efforts.
Prize giving kicked off in the clubhouse at 18h00 and after a sweaty, sunny day, it was JDL Electric’s 4-ball team which eventually took first place with a whopping 100 points. The longest day prize went to Schneider Electric – although this is not a true reflection of their playing skills as some even poorer teams could not face handing in their score cards. The prize for the best dressed hole went to JDL Electric, and the best dressed team was Eurolux, all sporting their signature red golf shirts.
It was an amazing experience for all involved, as we grabbed the opportunity to meet and greet other key ‘players’ in the industry. We took the bull by the horns and showed all the other participants that when we play golf, we mean business!
For your amazement/amusement, we’ve included a few photos taken on the day...
WELL DONE TEAM!
